Prop. 1 will codify safeguards

Lately we are being bombarded by mail from Republicans to vote no on Proposition 1, stating outright lies on what it will achieve.

Let’s be clear, because Democrats control our state senate and assembly, we enjoy a women’s right to choose and gay marriage, as well as legal rights for minorities and the gay community, Medicaid for the elderly to cover nursing homes, and a plethora of other safeguard laws for our state residents.

However, these are laws that can be changed or taken away at any time, especially if Republicans ever regain power in our state legislature.

Proposition 1 moves all these protections to our state constitution, which makes it extremely difficult, if not impossible, to take them away.

Don’t fall for Republican lies. Vote yes on Proposition 1.
